Travelers, we made Curious Sweden for you. Whatever age you are you got to know, use, and love something Swedish: Minecraft, Spotify, Skype, Volvo and seat belt, Nobel Prize except for mathematicians, Ericsson and 5G, Greta Thunberg, Sexual revolution, Stockholm syndrome, IKEA, ABBA, Absolut, Björn Borg aka Nadal of his era, Karlsson-on-the-Roof… Now you can create your own road trips in Sweden and experience the country of inventors & inventions.

To test Curiosio we took inspiration from the several good itineraries created by others and made the interactive trip plans in those contexts. On the one hand, we are validating the density and quality of our knowledge graph. On the other hand, we are giving you the interactive versions that you can bend to your requirements by geo area, points, duration, budget, and so forth.

Folkloric Dalarna and Varmland

“… west from Stockholm into the folkloric provinces of Dalarna and Värmland, the heart of Sweden. In American terms, it’s equivalent to leaving New York and heading for the Midwest. This land of lakes and inland seas — often called Sweden in miniature — features mountains and rich agricultural plains.” Frommer’s.

Village-Hopping Through Skåne

“There’s no better way to discover Sweden’s rosy-cheeked outdoors and outstanding foodie scene than on a road trip through the country’s spirit-raising southernmost province.” National Geographic.

Hit the Road in Southern Sweden

“… a road trip across southern Sweden to find adventure… journey across Småland and Skåne provinces through stunning scenery and on thrilling adventures from bike rides in the forest to hurtling down ziplines.” National Geographic.

From Gothenburg to Strömstad

“Make a weekend out of eating your way up to Sweden’s west coast… trust us when we say you’ll want to take your time along the coastal highway, where the midnight-blue straits of the North Sea will be in constant view… you’ll find the tastiest mussels, lobster, and herring in all of Sweden. The cold, clean waters of this part of the North Atlantic make the meat especially firm and sweet, and the chefs here keep the cooking simple — boiled, grilled, lightly seasoned — so as not to muddy the natural flavors.” Condé Nast Traveler.

You can customize any trip plan. Here is an example of how to set a perimeter of interest to the west coast, increase the duration of the trip from 3 days to 4, and set the theme to Obscure. Your first step is hitting the red [Supertrip] button on the trip you like. Then edit. Then hit [GET TRIP] and wait ~30s.

Just edit whatever you want. Click on everything and change it. Play with the list of points. That input field is very powerful though a bit tricky for using. E.g. you can delete points with the backspace button by inserting the cursor beam between them. You can insert a point at the cursor position, but the order between the starting and finishing points doesn’t matter… Maybe we will redesign that control. Meanwhile, try to tame it by playing with it.

West Sweden Road Trip: Beautiful Islands and Villages

“…the West of Sweden has one of the most beautiful and underrated landscapes in the world. There is something so special about the little seaside villages and harbours lined with wooden red houses.” Katiesaway.

When in Stockholm — go underground — Stockholm metro is the most beautiful subway in the world! Follow your curiosity and stay tuned.
